Do I Still Need My Xonar Essense STX Card with Maximus VI Formula?

I have upgraded to a Maximus VI Formula MOBO, and I went ahead and also kept my Xonar Essence STX card. Understanding the capabilities of SupremeFX, is there a reason why I would want to keep using my STX in my setup? Only one I can think of is being able to use the RCA outputs to input into my sound system instead of using the typically marginal 1/8" stereo cable, but totally possible if needed. I have my system sound plumbed into a Carvin 2000w 4-speaker sound system in my garage.

Thanks!

I had the same dilemma. On numbers alone, the STX is more than twice better than the SupremeFX...(124 dB vs 120 dB). but then the SupremeFX had some cool gaming add -ons. In the end I decided that what matters most for me is the sound, so I kept the STX and disabled (in the BIOS) the SupremeFX.

The fact that I was able to use the the STX's RCA outs to link to my Focal monitors was what helped me go with the STX. I didn't do a comparison of the two sound boards - but I expected the STX to sound better.

The sound is good. I am happy with the decision.
