I would like to know if this computer I just built will play 95% of games in the next 5 years between very high to ultra, 2x AA and 4x AF at least,1920x1200 resolution and 45fps minimum frame rate. What do you think? Here are my specs..

Intel i7 4770 CPU 3.4ghz with 4.0ghz turbo boost
8GB DDR3 RAM at 1600mhz
EVGA GTX 780ti Superclocked with ACX cooling GPU
Corsair CX600 Builder series PSU at 600w bronze rated
Asus z87m mATX Motherboard
Great airflow with 4 fans in a N200 case by cooler master

So am I set for 5 years at my minimum settings above do you think? Thanks.

I guess you'll be able to max at games at 1080p for atleast 3 years with that gpu. But 5 years, HELL NO.

Yes but if you are willing to play games at mid-high settings then I think you'll be fine.

For eg- like the gtx 780ti five years back, the gtx 285 was the top dog. Though it cant max out games now. Still it can pretty much handle most games at mid settings at 1080p.

Get a 850w or more Psu from Antec, seasonic or XFX, just order the 780 for now, in 3 years time add one more 780 for sli and there should be good gaming for a while. The 780 vs 780ti isn't worth the extra price when you can get a plain 780 for $469 right now on Newegg

In 3 years tie the 780 will be old junk and any midrange graphics card would be cheaper and faster

If you dont think Im correct , think back to what was awesome 3 years ago and tell me why you would still bother to buy it

It's the most you can hope for, there is no future proof system as long as they keep coming out with higher resolution and demand for more detail because you want to see the sweat off roll off your enemy's brow at 60 yards away then GPUs will clearly get outdated. If he stuck to 1080p then he should be fine but who knows for sure.

Best we can do is give people guidance and hopefully save them money

780ti will be able to play on ultra for 2-3 years, high for 2-3 years.

if you are playing a non graphics intensive game, add 1-2 years to those numbers. if you are playing something like battlefield 4 (or 5 if that ever comes out in the future) subtract 1-2 years.

yes, you will be able to max out the vast majority of all games however in some cases you may need to lower aa or adjust settings accordingly. there is no future proof.

Absolutely, plus the gtx 780 isnt awesome anymore ( yeah its fast but i usually reserve that word for the fastest)...so 3 years later it will be no more than a hypothetical gtx 950ti
