best graphics card for samsung s27b970d

Just purchased a Samsung s27b970d mainly for text work (for writing and reviewing word docs). The monitor was super sharp in the store (it was running on a Nvidia GTX660). Got it home and hooked it up to my new computer that has NVidia gt640. Monitor is not as clear -- words are a bit blurry.

What is the best (future proof) graphics card to make text on the Samsung the clearest?

Thanks - I installed all drivers (Samsung, NVidia & windows 8.1) and still not working right.

I would suggest you get this graphics card, it's cheap and you will still get decent performance out of it, I'm guessing you don't play that many video games on your computer that often. Also it has support for multiple monitors if you wish to increase work flow and productivity. Check your screen resolution. Is it running at its native resolution of 2560 x 1440? Maybe it's still running at something lower, whatever you had before.

On a related note, the specs of the GT 640 say max resolution 2048x1536 if connected with a VGA cable. It can support 2560x1440 but only if you use a DVI-D cable. Are you using DVI-D?

Thanks all. I am using display port and display is running natively at 2560x1440. I went into the Nvidia control panel and changed the 3d settings from "let 3d application decide" to emphasize "quality" and it seems to have majorly improved the text clarity. Not sure I understand why, but it seems to have worked. I appreciate your responses - this is a very helpful site.
