I currently have an EVGA GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) ... this is the 2GB version. I play Battlefield 4 and the card runs it fine. I average 60 fps and Yes, all my settings are dropped to low/medium, but that's what I prefer playing at anyway. The issue I'm having is I've had it for a few years (Oct/2011) now and I know it's time I replaced it. I don't want to spend tons of money on a card(s) If I dont need too. I've been looking at the GTX 770 and the 780. Which should I choose or is there another option I'm overlooking.

EVGA NVidia GTX 770
EVGA NVidia GTX 780

My current rig
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
AMD Phenom II X6 1090T ~3.2GHz
Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
16GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 1866 (PC3 14900)
EVGA NVidia GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 192-bit GDDR5
Tagan BZ Series 900W Modular PSU

More about : choosing gfx card

Well, obviously the 780 is a stringer card, but in terms of price/value I saw a 770 linked ealier that was
only $36 more than a 760.

I'd go with that, especially since you are OK with a 550ti. A 770 has way more performance.

About $150 difference, I'd go with the 770

Yeah, the 770 sounds best for you. A 7850 or 7870 would also work.

hehe I like how'd you don't want to spend a load of money on a GPU yet a 780 is in the $500 era.

Anyway. toyftw you should probably take into account what resolution he is. The 770 is the better buck for the price up to 2k resolutions but higher than that then the 780 begins to shine.

Also wait.. this is a terrible website to buy from. try newegg.com

I would suggest the Gigabyte or the MSI Lightning GTX 770. They're much better in terms of performance and sound

They are the same chip dude. Get whatever is cheapest if you don't care about noise, and even then, it doesn't really matter. I would go with an MSI Twin Frozr if you want it to be quiet. The 780 is much more powerful than the 770, but also much more expensive.

Actually, I took into account he preferred low/medium settings on a 550ti & didn't want to spend tons of money.
I wasn't going to suggest a 780 with those parameters.
