So, memory timings: 10-10-10-27.

Is that crap?

Is 9-9-9-24 better? I'm under the impression that the smaller the number the faster the ram.

I'm currently using this memory, it says the timings are 10-10-10-27. I looked in my bios and the timings were set to 9-9-9-24 so I changed them to match the RAM.

Is that recommended or should I have left it?

That's the slowest timings on DDR3-1600 that I recall. Now most memory with CAS10 do 1866 or maybe even a bit higher.

Run memtest86 from HERE to see if that memory is stable at the lower timings. Any errors means that it is not. Good Luck!

Yes, those are based on CL10, if they will run at the 9-9-9-24, I'd leave them there it is better, and if stability becomes an issue , raise the DRAM voltage to 1.55, 1600/9 is basically considered entry level, but there are still 1600/10 and even 11 sets out there, normally made with slightly weaker mem ICs than the 1600/9

Command rate or mode or timing will generally be a setting that will be either 2T, 2N, 1T or 1N (the N or T is interchangeable - used to be primarily AMD used the N and Intel the T but pretty interchangeable these days and 2 is generally the default

In the bios everything was automatically set to its correct value except for the command rate which was set to one (I founf out my CR is 2).

Would it be wise to change it from 1 to 2?
