Approximate Purchase Date: Within two weeks

Budget Range: Less than $500 AUD (I'm in Australia)

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Typing on Microsoft word, Surfing the internet.

Are you buying a monitor: YES

Parts to Upgrade: NO parts to upgrade, I'm building an entirely new computer

Do you need to buy OS: YES, MAYBE WIN 8

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: pc part picker? Australian websites, so probably scorpion or something.

Location: SYDNEY, NEW SOUTH WALES, AUSTRALIA.

Parts Preferences: Nothing in particular but I really would like a not too big computer case, pure white in colour with no windows or see through gaps.

Overclocking: Probably not.

SLI or Crossfire: No idea what this is, so most likely no.

Your Monitor Resolution: Nothing in particular, just big and cheap

Additional Comments: I want my computer to be fast, run fast, BE QUIET, and have decent memory! And physical things that I see must be colourful like my monitor and my case.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Because my old computer is so damn slow and so damn loud.

BTW I saw this thread called bestconfigs poll, and found this build. Is it okay for my needs?

I have no idea if those parts are available in Australia though, and the case will definitely change because it has to be colourful in appearence.

OF COURSE I am very welcome and will really appreciate ANY suggestions at all! If you have an idea for an entirely new build, go ahead and please tell me! I am NOT an experienced computer builder so I am very much grateful for any help and tips!

Graphics card is video card right? Would 4gb Ram be enough?

Yes. If your office build is just meant for word, excel, etc. 4gb of ram and an core i3 or i5 would be plenty for a fast system. The build you have was for budget gaming I believe.

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($68.00 @ CPL Online)
Power Supply: Antec Basiq 350W ATX Power Supply ($41.84 @ Mwave Australia)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer ($22.00 @ Mwave Australia)

(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

Left the case out for you to choose.
