hi everyone so i think i've broken my 7870 graphics card

it was running on my pc while playing World of Tanks

then a piece of metal from the case fell on the back of the GPU the bit with all the chips and soldering

and it just shut down my whole pc i tried rebooting but it but i get no display on my monitor
the fans still work

i think the piece of metal connected two bits of the circuit that shouldn't be connected

i was wondering is there a easy fix to this has anyone else come cross this issue?
any help would be great

Having metal touch electronics is a good way to fry things.
Now the challenge here is to find the causalities. The video card is no doubt fried but you could have also
burned your PSU and motherboard

my 7870 didn't show display to i put my old hd 5670 back in and i have a display
so the motherboard and PSU are fine

i think the issue is all in the GPU
there r no burn marks nothing, the only way i could tell it was broken was it didn't show a display
i was thinking of doing that oven thing
but was wondering if anyone else has any idea?

No reason. That's if it is somehow physically damaged. Just RMA it if you can. The reason you put it in the oven is to reconnect soldering, basically by melting it and hoping it reforms correctly. You can try that if you have no warranty, but I doubt it would work.

no warranty unfortunately so can't return it anywhere
can find anyone that will fix it
all the shops say its cheaper to buy a new one
i might have to just oven it and if that don't work throw it away
