Is this pc ideal for gaming?

Well depends on your resolution you probbaly would get 60+ fps on 1080 and higher on lower resolution but its a great computer for gaming!

So will i need to upgrade any parts in the near future and also would it be cheaper for me to build this pc myself and tweak some parts?

To me no you dont have to upgrade any parts.It could play any game right now
But you cant over clock.
If you build your self a computer itll cost you 100-200 dollars lesss.
