FarCry3 Game Problem

I've encountered a strange problem with my game. I've completed the first island without problem and reached the second island. Now, the game loads super fast and the screen is all black. The map is all blue.
Below are the screenshots

I tried uninstalling, reinstalling the game to no effect.
P.S: I know that activating radio towers is necessary to reveal map. That is not the problem.

I done abit off research and I found two "semi-fixes"

1) Install patches and make the game up to date
2) Lower your shadows setting to off or very low (Weird right!?)

It appears the problem only exists in island 2. I started a new game and everything was working fine. Then I loaded the saved game (island 2) and the same problem.

Do you have enough graphics support??? as it needs a minimum of 512mb vram. Try changing graphics to low, if problems persist reply to this thread & also is there enough ram and processor speed??? reply with your computer specifications

I'm pretty sure i have enough power to run the game. Below are my system specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.93GHz
4GB Ram
ATI Radeon 4550 1GB

I've tried reinstalling it a few times. The problem only occurs in island 2 and no matter what I do, it persists.
