Hello people. After attempting to build my first gaming computer I ran into a slight problem. Everything booted up with fans running and steady green LED on motherboard on. My problem is that nothing was showing up on the display. One of my friends that was more familiar with computer parts came to my house to check it out and with that his assumption was that the Nvidia Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660 Graphics Card was not compatible with the Asus M5A97 Le R2.0 Motherboard.

List of computer parts
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 660
- ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0
- CORSAIR CX500 500W
- AMD FX-6300
- ASUS DRW Disk Burner
- Western Digital 1TB 7200 RPM
- Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3

^ I doubt that.
That mobo has PCIe x16 slot. Make sure you have installed the graphics card in the first slot.

Everything on that list seems to be right. I did some research on it and i came across this on the Asus website about this motherboard. "Supports AMD Quad-GPU CrossFireX™ Technology"

^ that matters when using multiple cards...
For a single carrd setup, that mobo will support both the AMD and Nvidia cards

What do you suggest doing then? Is it a hardware failure or a problem with the way i built it?

Zorclaud, I have a similar build fx 6100, nvidia geforce gtx 760, 8gb gskill sniper, cx 750, same Mobo. I have messed up so many time building this thing. Cpu fan in the wrong slot, not connecting mt 4/8 pin for the cpu power, not plugging in my case pins and post speakers. I have built this thing probably 5 times over and it's still not working yet... it's been a month...

From what I can tell, There is a possibility that the default bios does not support the current video card. There is also a chance that the bios is corrupted, mobo is corrupted. etc. If possible check your post speaker, mine came with my case, depending on the beep it's pretty clear what is wrong. if it doesn't beep, something is wrong with the mobo. It is kind of unfair having to go through all of this, but at this point I am on the verge of sending my mobo back and my processor back just to be sure and getting new ones.

My problem is I can post to the splash screen but then everything freezes. I can get into bios if I'm quick enoguh but it freezes there too. So I'm am stumped consulted support services, but my best bet is to get a new amd mobo. save yourself the extra month...
