Heres a build you can play games on high/ultra :)
You can expand a longer video card up to 430mm and upgrade more in the future
If you could squeeze in a 20-30 more id buy a cpu cooler :)

Here ya go. A very solid build. Has a better gaming processor than about any other AMD processor. And this is current generation hardware. You don't want any outdated stuff with not much driver support.

But ya, cheapest build with a quad core intel processor.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($189.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI B85-G41 PC Mate ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($78.24 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital RE3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($58.84 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus Radeon HD 7790 1GB Video Card ($132.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($37.99 @ Microcenter)
Case Fan: Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC-GP 69.0 CFM 120mm Fan ($7.98 @ OutletPC)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($44.61 @ B&H)

Total: $631.14

This is a blue themed build. You can easily change the computer case if you do not like it. But the case does have a temperature monitor on the front of the computer case.

Well the R9-270 has basically the same performance as a HD 7870. So here are some benchmarks.

The R9-270 will be able to get 60+ FPS in any game on low. It just depends where you put the graphics setting.

And just realize if you do go with AMD, all their 6 and 8 cores have about the same performance, so there's really no possible CPU upgrades.

Yeah that would be a good card. Sapphire is said to be the best manufacture of AMD graphics cards. Asus is very good to.

Yes! Look at reviews on youtube 1080p
You should look at austin evans channel 600 dollar build has a review of it :)
270x will play your games ultra/high with 2gb which would be great if you had a 1080p monitor

you can get a fx 6300 or i5 cpu and a r7 260x or a gtx 750 ti video card, this will allow you to play most games at 1080p- medium/high settings with no aa
