new graphics card problem (newby)

so i just bought the gigabyte Geforce GTX 650 OC 2048MB gddr5.. my motherboard is compatible with the pci-e on the 650 i have.. but when i installed the card and plugged in my comp and everything it only stayed at a welcome type of screen saying "press (esc) to go to start menu"
that didn't quite work. i was wondering if anyone knew what i should do?

Send a picture of the error. That'll help in identifying the problem.

well at first the problem was that i didnt download the drivers for the 650.. after i downloaded those i uninstalled my old graphics card then popped in the gtx 650 but my computer still wouldnt go past the screen.. i tried twice.. but it wouldnt recognize or automatically update or download it

Remove the GPU and try to download the drivers again. If that doesn't work then try checking other components for any problems in installation. Hope this helped.
