hi im wanting to build a computer specificly to play swtor as i use macs for everything else.
i dont realy understand computer lingo.

the recommended requirements to play are :
CPU: AMD Phenom 2 X4 Quad-core 2.5GHz or better / Intel Core 2Quad Processor 2.4GHz or better.
OS: Windows 7 64bit SP1, with 4GB RAM or higher.
8x DVD-ROM or faster.
VIDEO: ATI/AMD Radeon HD 4850 or better* / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 or better* / *512 minimum video RAM / *Shader 3.0 or better fully compatible graphics card.

im wanting to play on atleast high graphics

ive tried learning to understand computer lingo but i dont quite get it. from wat ive seen im thinking of getting:

- intel dualcore i5 2500k
- GTX 670 or Radeon HD 7950
- DDR3 8GB (2x4gb)
- Seagate Barracuda 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB

im not sure what motherboard or powersupply i need to match with that, or which operating system is best for gaming. also which other bits and peices id need to complete the build

any and all help would b much appreciated

Pretty much every part you have listed is a couple of years old , or subsequently updated .

What is your budget , and does that have to include a copy of windows and a monitor?

If I was spending $800 on hardware it would be something like this .
I would vary things based on deals , perhaps

Intel Core i5-4430 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Asus H87-PLUS ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Sport XT 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Hitachi Deskstar 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Antec One ATX Mid Tower Case
Corsair CX 500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Uses the latest intel quadcore series , and a graphics card that is more powerful , but uses less power than the radeon 7950

Windows 7 is more user friendly but I guess for boot times and after every game gets a driver it would be windows 8 not sure which games don't work on it though.
