if you have the money id say buy the Asus or MSI 780ti, also go with 16gb of 1866 mhz ram if you can(not a must though)

I too was going to buy the noctua then saw Linus tech tips with the corsair h100i and it's on average ten percent cooler. Living in Australia might want to consider it..

Thanks, taken up both pieces of advice there. Seem logical and I was tossing up about 8 or 16 GB of RAM.

Cheers, but sorry to say I'm not doing water-cooling. Might have to look into it but wasn't brave enough to tackle it on my first build. I had nightmares of water pouring all over the inside of my case due to my poor tubing.

Do you thing the Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 CPU Cooler will suffice? From what I've researched it seems to do the job and the case already has some pretty decent cooling.

May consider upgrading to water cooling in the future.

I'm a even bigger noob then you when it comes to pc building so I've used these forums and youtube to compile my rig.

Now the corsair h100i is a closed loop water cooling solution. So noob friendly. I really liked the noctua ( when if it's ugly lol ) because it received a lot of great reviews so I'm sure it'll do what you want it to. For me tho $3000 plus is a lot of money just like $2500 is. So I went with what was best. I can't seem to find and good info on toms forums about water cooling or I'd go that route ( I'm having a pc company here in canada build my rig for $100 ) so worrying about screwing it up isn't really a concern for myself. I'm sure there's multiple electronic/pc stores there to so that's a option for you as well?..

Thanks again. I agree it's a lot which makes me think if I'm going all out, I should go all out. That said I'm really keen on building it myself - for the fun of it more then anything. Can you suggest any water cooling sets? You need a radiator too right?

I'm going with a closed one with corsair h100i. As for custom loops I have zero knowledge but did notice toms has a sticky on them.
I think I'll go that route after getting my rig especially when I'm spending 3K on my rig. Plus it just looks awesome! You should youtube some videos.

Alright, you might have persuaded me. Just looked into it some more and I see what you are saying. Looks like it's a complete package, you just need to attach as you would any other CPU cooler, no radiator or extra tubing/plumbing required. Only an extra $5 here in Australia too. Got me sold. Thanks for your help and good luck with your own build. I'll post some benchmarks here so you can check them out if you're ever interested.

Sounds fun I'm sure your just as excited as me! Now if my mobo I want would just be in stock >.< lol
Youtube linustechtips and he benchmarks the corsair h100i against a wide range of coolers including the noctua so you can see it in action as well :)
