As the title says, I'm trying to put together my first build.

Mostly wanting a build that will easily max most games (Skyrim is my main priority) that are out and is somewhat set for the future.

Case: Rosewill Thor V2
Motherboard: Maximus VI Hero
CPU: i5-4670k
RAM: G.Skill Sniper 8gb
GPU: GTX 770 (trying to decide between EVGA and Gigabyte)
PSU: Seasonic 760w Platinum (Already bought for 100$)
HDD: WD 1TB
SDD: Samsung 840 EVO 120gb

Any input on the build would be greatly appreciated.

Also, what is everyone's thoughts on EVGA vs Gigabyte for the GTX 770?

I like more Gigabyte card. EVGA is better if you go water cooling. Gigabyte makes 4GB 770's so Id get more memory.

Samsung evo 120GB is not so good as the bigger ones. With smaller ones samsun pro is better choice.
Id look bigger 256GB like sandisk ultra plus. Cheap, good and fast enough.. Bigger is better. Girls keep tellig me :D
Joke but hey bigger SSD is better :) Build looks good. Really good.

What cooler you plan on this build? This is good.

Sounds good, I'll replace the EVO with a Samsung PRO 256gb.

I hadn't really thought about watercooling and/or more cooling.

I thought if I had no plans to overclock, then the stock fans and case fans would be enough.

Updated:

Would that be enough to run most games at max?

But if you buy cheaper sandisk ultra plus 256GB you save mioney for cpu cooler. That really is good buy.

And you can save some on the mobo too.

I must admit, I do not know much about the comparison of parts.
Whats the big differences between the Maximus Hero and the Gigabyte Mobo?

Nothing much. Gigabyte is good it do have good vrm components. Cheaper good and it will oc your system what you need. Asus is more expensive. Name cost maybe too much.

Same thing with samsun pro SSD. It is just 1 second faster in some test. So is it really worth so much more money? That you must think self.

Good cpu cooler is nice with new build. It is more silent and enables you to OC anytime you want to do that.
I do not make you r build worse or anything like that. Just do not trow money there where is no real benefit.
Still you have good working pc for a long time. Btw. really nice pick that psu. Really good price and awesome psu.

And with savings you can buy 4GB gigabyte 770 if you want :)

Do you really think that CM 212 EVO is worth 30$ ? It looks kind a really small..
Macho is big and cools cpu really nice. And it is really silent too.
You can remove fan and it still working fine. But hey your build :) I just want to mae it better :)
