Hello tom's Hardware community,

I'm planning to buy a new laptop for university stuff and maybe a little bit of gaming (but not that much since i already have a pc for that). I have a budget of 800-900$. I ended on these two choices:
1. Asus x550LB: http://
-Silver; 15.6-Inch HD (1366X768); Intel Core i7-4500; 6GB DDR3
-Nvidia 740M 2G; 750GB 5400 RPM; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW
-Windows 8 (64 bit); 802.11BGN; HD Camera; Bluetooth 4.0;
-4 Cell 2600 BATTERY; HDMI, Instant On; 1x USB3.0; 1x USB2.0; SD only
-1yr International Warranty/1yr Accidental Damage/30-Day Zero Bright Dot/2-way Free shipping/24-7 tech support
PRICE: 879 $ CDN
2. MSI GP60 20D: http://
-Sharkbay i5-4200M
-DDR III 8GB
-750GB (SATA)
-15.6" Full HD Non Reflection
-Win8 Multi-language
-nVidia Geforce GT740M, 2GB DDR3
PRICE: 799$ CDN

By your personal knowledge and experience with these brands, please help me to choose. Also, if you have some better suggestions for me, it would be useful to share it.

Thanks,
Marco

No problem! My best friend has last year's model, the 410p, and he absolutely loves his and he used it for school at West Point military academy. I think you'll love it.
