Tracked threads suggestions

With regards this post http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-1730277/suggest-us... that I made regarding tracked threads, there are two threads in my tracked threads list that I cannot "stop tracking this thread" because the link is not there - perhaps because the threads are closed.

The threads are as follows:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/3149-56-intel-xeon-26...
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/15173-55-reasons-fire...

Also, going to every single thread in the tracked threads list to untrack them is tedious at best in my opinion.

How about an "Untrack All" option on the tracked threads page, please?

In addition, I think that when posting a response to a thread, it would make things much easier if there were an option in close proximity to the "post message" box to "Track Thread" that could be checked if the user is interested in tracking the thread. When posting a comment to a news item, there is no option to track or not track the thread that appears unless one follows the "View Thread in Forum" link. Having to follow that link, post a reply, then "untrack thread" seems a bit tedious to me.

For this thread, I cannot untrack it either, but it is not closed. Is this because I stared the thread??

Quite right - that would be because the thread is either closed (in which case it will receive no new updates), or because you started it, and it will track automatically.

Why not let users get it out of their tracked threads?

They can do either - we like to be sure there are multiple means of following the most important threads to an individual.

Personally, I don't get how someone can get out of tracking a thread they start. You said it is impossible. Also, getting out of a closed thread is impossible, but that does not matter, at least in your opinion.

Being automatically subscribed to updates without the possibility of being able to get out of those updates is, in my opinion, forcing users to use the board the way that the board wants them to, not the way that users want.
