Hi everyone!

I am building a gaming pc for the first time. I've done some deep research, but in the end, I'm still a noobie. I have not ordered any parts yet, so if anyone thinks my parts are unbalanced please speak up! Also, if anyone has any experiences with any of the parts as being unreliable or difficult, I'd appreciate a head's up. Here are my components and peripherals, along with the links to where I'm purchasing them:

Case - Cooler Master HAF X - High Air Flow Full Tower - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Motherboard – ASUS Maximus VI Formula Z87 LGA 1150 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Processor – Intel Core i7 4770k - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Graphics Card – PNY OC GeForce GTX 780 3GB - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

RAM – Corsair Vengeance 2x8- http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-Desktop-Memory-...

Boot/Application SSD – Samsung EVO 500Gb - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E3W1726/ref=as_li_s...

Storage HDD – WD Red 2TB - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008JJLZ7G/ref=as_li_q...

PSU - Rosewill FORTRESS-750 750W- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

CPU Liquid Cooler – Corsair Hydro 110 Extreme 280mm - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Keyboard – CM Storm Ultimate Mechanical - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

DVD Drive – ASUS 24x Burner - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Monitor – ASUS 1080p 24” 2ms 60hz - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Hey LittleBlue!
Looking at this build I am going to say it's extremely high end. The case can provide some confusion if you don't know how to use it, so I would suggest making sure you know what it is and how to use it. The motherboard is really nice, and the processor is overkill but it is amazing. Everything else is amazing and the mechancial keyboard will be really nice.

This build is the best of the best. Are you on a budget or anything, because this is overkill?

awesome build!
if you don't have a max budget, go for the corsair dominator ram, awesome RAMs..
maybe go a little up on PSU, in case you want to add another GPU?
the keyboard is amazing, got it myself :-)
btw, what games are you planning to run?

right now you put a rig together that will game really well, and can video and photo edit, 3d model and render, and everything in between. IF you know you will only be gaming, at the highest end of computer stress, you can downgrade to best i5 4XXX, 2 x 4GB RAM, and a GTX 770 for single monitor gaming. This is only if you want to save money, realisticly in games, you wont see a difference between the build you have and the changes i made. If you DO ever plan on playing with 3dCAD or video editing software, or if money is really NO issue at all, keep it as it is, a real best :]

V0RTEX, thanks for the response. I know it's kinda overkill, but it's within means and I'm hoping the components are not obsolete for at least the next four years. Do you think it's reasonable? I do plan on tinkering with OC in BIOS, so I would like to keep some of the higher end pieces in there, hoping they can handle it.

s3ns3oo, thanks for the response. No real fixed budget, but I'm looking for a reasonable, high end gaming pc. Do you think the extra $100 bucks for RAM would be worth it? I don't doubt that the Dominator RAM is awesome, but is it worth the money? As for PSU, I've got about 200-300W (maybe less, I don't know) free on my PSU as is. I don't have any plans for SLI, but how much extra wattage would I need for a second graphics card? I plan on running games comparable to Crysis 3 and BF4 at 1080p Max Settings.

Beezy, thanks for the response. I do plan on taking this to college, so I'm sure I will find use for its 3d rendering and video editing capabilities some time. As for the overkill, I'm hoping that this processor/GPU combo will still have peak performance with games for the next 2 to 3 years. Hopefully, the investment will be worth it. I do plan on doing some tinkering with OC, so the 4770k and the 16Gb of RAM will surely be put to use.

2-3 years with ease, Id say honestly with the limit weve reached with cpu power, you will be set for even longer. so long as youre willing to sacrifice some graphical settings in games but for workstation needs youre good

Well... you probably dont need so much extra juice from the PSU, im not 100% sure.. about the RAM, you dont need it, but if you gona buy a top-notch PC, why not ;)

This would easily last a couple of years. You should be able to crank out some real performance on this thing. Sorry for responding so late. Good luck on your build!
