Hi, I've been experiencing some problems with my Ubuntu 12.04 partition. I dual boot Ubuntu with Windows 8.1 and I wanted to delete the Ubuntu partition and install Windows 7. I booted up the Windows 7 install disk and went to install it as an advanced person. I selected the Ubuntu partition and selected format, then i got a notification saying: " Unable to format partition error 0x80042448 ". I tried searching on the internet for something similar but found nothing. Could any of you please help ?

Windows is probably having issues with you deleting a logical partition that has the boot files on it. Try a partition program like gparted on a live copy of Ubuntu.

But do note, even your computer doesn't want to lose Linux. :ange:

Yes, thank you that worked. I've been trying to delete Ubuntu because I was having stability issues. :bounce:
