Dear Expert Brothers,

I have recently built a new rig as per below:

i5 4670k Haswell
8GB HyperX Beast 2400
Asus R9 280x Direct CU ii
Maximus VI Hero Motherboard

My latest upgrade was to get another new monitor and I have ended purchasing BenQ XL2420T and soon I was told that the TX is included with the NVIDIA 3D Vision 2 glasses kit set. So I went to order the monitor.

I have a big question mark when I started to google more about this set up, the more I have got confused on the 3D compatibility of the AMD GPU and my latest monitor NVIDIA 3D.

Will I be able to work the 3D glass with the AMD GPU or I may have to change another NVIDIA GPU to get it to work? Please help me! I do not want to waste more money for an expensive NVIDIA GPU as the my fuel is low! if you know what I mean $$$.

Some computer technician actually said it will work but I have not gotten the monitor yet and I don't want to any disappointment when the monitor arrives.

Thanks for your help in advance

DC

2 types of 3D:
1. Passive 3D: uses "TriDef Software" and compatable 3D monitor; it uses both nvidia and amd cards
monitors supported :
http://support.amd.com/en-us/recommended/hd3d-displays
www.tridef.com
Brands: samsung, lg, hp,....
2. Active (nVidia) 3D: requires speific gpu (geforce), monitor (like what you have ordered) and their glasses

YOUR PROBLEM: your BenQ monitor sees no geforce connected, then it says "i am not a 3d monitor" so tridef software says "no 3d monitor" then you are unable to view passive 3d and off course no active

Sorry
