I wanted to make my own pc with the following configuration to play games at mid or high settings (games of 2013-15 after these years its ok to play on low settings) MY config:
i5 3550 3.3 ghz
Zotac Nvidia 650 ti 2 gb or Zotac nvidia 650 ti-boost 1gb
Asrock H77 Pro 4
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO Cooler
Corsair Vengeance DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB)
Case is not yet decided neither is a psu....
Should i buy a ps4 or this kind of pc? There is a slight problem with a ps4 i.e i wont be able to buy more than 2 games or so a year.... Well there is always a way with a pc i can get a cd from my friend where as the same does not go with a ps4
Please help me decide Thank You....
This is my first time i am building my own pc rig ( im only 14 yrs ) :p

Change the i5 to an FX-6300 and use the $100 saved dollars to increase your video card to a GTX 760. With your implied budget, you're too CPU-heavy and too GPU-light. Gaming machines perform best when they are GPU-heavy and CPU-average.

dont buy ps 4
the computer will never go out of gaming as you can keep upgrading your pc
personal experience i bought the xbox and after 1 year of purchasing microsoft released xbox one now its only a matter of time till my xbox gets obsolete
ps 5,6,7,8, will keep coming but desktop is your top bet
also yes you can borrow games from your friends
so upgrade it

45k is a tight one. My setup without the graphics card is 44k. Are you fine with AMD?

The cabinet doesn't matter. Circle ones are the best and cheapest I could find (Mine is 2500, you can get one as cheap as 1300). Also, doesn't matter if you get a bad KB&Mouse(Get an 800 pair of Microsoft or Logitech. If this build is above budget then get an FX6300.

The great thing about PCs is that you can custom build it and you can upgrade in the future for better performance.

The great thing about the PS4 is that you simply buy it and start playing games with it. There are no real upgrade options other than probably the size of the hard drive. Everyone who buys the PS4 will basically have the same experience.

-------------------------------------------------------

New games are always released, that is a given.

On a PS4, as long as you buy a PS4 game you will be able to play that game. I does not matter if that game comes out this year (2014) or if it comes out in 2019, you will be able to play the game because the hardware does not change. The only time when there is a significant change to the hardware is when they release a new console generation like the PS5.

New PC hardware is always being released, you got CPUs coming from Intel and AMD. You have GPUs coming from AMD and nVidia. Games for PC pushes the performance envelop, because if the current hardware cannot allow you to play the game with maximum graphics quality now, then a year or two that hardware will be available (examples are Crysis and Crysis 3). This means if you want the best performance, you need to upgrade the PC on a regular basis.

PC games released in 2019 will not run very well on a PC built in 2014. PS4 games released in 2019 will run just fine on a PS4 purchased in 2014.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Having stated the above, I do not play console games.
