I have my eyes on the ASUS G750JW-DB71 Price range of $1300.00 I'd like to keep max. WIth that being said I feel as if I need to know if this will be a good purchase right now beings that we are now in 2014 and this is technically already nearly a year old.

Any clue when the new models will come out and what I may or may not be missing... should I wait and see what my competition will be. and then see if I can get this laptop cheaper or possibly another one better at the same price?

Any input would be nice.

TL:D R - I want to know when the next model of Laptops are coming out, and should I buy ASUS G750JW-DB71 now at around 1300.00 or wait for competition.

This honestly is a great laptop and you wont be disappointed with it.
any other option other than these asus ones will have significantly worse cooling.

i have the msi ge 60 with equivalent stats and payed about $1300 as well and i love it, though it does run hot.

So as far as a laptop goes, I'd either go with this one, or find an msi equivalent on sale.

you will likely have to wait till about summer time before new laptops come out, and the performance increase will not be anything dramatic in the same price range

the 765m plays grid 2 at max settings across the board, plays crysis at medium-high settings with playable framerates, and is only just slightly slow when it comes to ac4 (plays it on medium just fine, but honestly, this game is just hard to play on a laptop keyboard for some reason to me lol)

Thank you Brantyn, I thought so.. I was eyeing the MSI... trying to figure out why the ASUS is 5lbs heavier, wondering if it has more plastic. the MSI does seem thinner, which may cause more heating issues.

I'd mainly use it for mmo's both future and current, maybe Day Z

plus you are getting a huge fhd screen with this laptop, 12 gb of ram, 1 tb of storage, and a beast cpu...i would say you are getting about as good of a deal as you are going to get aside from boxing day blowouts (even then, this is a pretty good deal)

my msi ge 60 is only a 15 inch screen and has 8gb of ram. It runs like a beast and i havent run into temp problems at all, but the asus ones have much bigger fans (and 2 of em to boot). Personally i was looking for the thinness for school reasons, but if size doesnt matter, this asus one is defiantely the way to go (will be WAY lower temps than my msi). Not to mention the asus laptops are whisper quiet due to the bigger fans

and the msi is mostly plastic while the asus is mostly aluminum. Honestly, if it werent for the size, i would have gone Asus anyway

Check out the ASUS ROG G750JM-DS71 ,the better features from the model you mentioned above are the new GTX 800 series GPU.It supports the latest Battery Boost and Shadow-play technologies. Battery Boost lets the user set a target frame-rate in the GeForce experience, meaning the GPU doesn't work harder than you need, saving the juice, while in the same app Shadow-play records your gaming in the background for sharing online in things like Let's Play videos. Another plus is its 1tb but 7200RPM HD. And the price for this model is the same as you mentioned above which i think is much more worth it..Well that's what i feel..But do check it out
