Hello forum

This is the parts list for the hackintosh that I intend to build. Also I will be running OS X Mavericks.

Parts List:
• Intel Xeon E3-1230 V3 3.3GHz Quad-Core
• Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD5H ATX LGA1150
• Corsair Vengeance LP 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600
• Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" SSD
• Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM
• EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB
• TP-Link TL-WDN4800 802.11a/b/g/n PCI-Express x1
• Phanteks Enthoo Series Primo Aluminum ATX Full Tower Case
• Corsair 600W ATX12V

My Questions
1. Are all these parts good? Do any have problems? Could any parts be swapped for better parts for around the same price?
2. Are all of these parts 100% compatible out of the box?
3. Is this all I need to build a computer? (aside from the mouse, keyboard and monitor) if I buy only these parts is this everything I need for the complete build? Will I need extra cooling? (case comes with 3 fans)
4. If there are any other concerns about this build of things that I should be aware of then can you please let me know below.

I would greatly appreciate it if you were to spare some time to answer my questions.
Thankyou

Most of it is fine. The GTX 660 will be problematic, however. It is a GK 106 part and should be avoided. There are huge odds that it won't work at all. Go for the GTX 660 Ti, it has great OS X support.

If you need any help with the process, feel free to ask. I did a couple of OS X installations on PC hardware myself, so maybe part of my experience will be useful for you.

Thankyou so much, however since I posted this I have changed the Graphics Card to the GTX 760 and the PSU to the Antec High Current Gamer 520W. Are these parts still completely compatible?

The GTX 760 does ok with OS X. You can go for it. :)

The PSU don't really matter in hackintosh terms. As long it can keep your system up, it will be fine. As I don't know much about PSU, you should check with another forum member if you have doubts about it being enough.

Ok and lastly do you think I need a CPU Cooler because currently I don't have one but people are saying that I should. My case does come with 3 built in fans and if I were to get one I'm not really sure which one to get.

I think that Intel provides a stock cooler with this Xeon. It is enough in most cases. That's not really my area, so It's better to wait another member to reply.

The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo is an excellent CPU cooler and it's compatible with most CPU sockets. The Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus is almost as good as the Evo but costs half as much so it's really a better bargain.
