Hello all and thanks for taking time to read this. I currently have a good pc I think lol.
Windows 8 64bit
8gb of ram ddr3
GTX 480 1.5gb
1tb hdd
amd fx4170.
I am playing games like dayz standalone ect and notice some lag like 20 fps when in towns ect when I am playing at medium settings. I have been reading and the game is very cpu intensive I also play alot of new titles that come out. I was looking at getting i5 4670K but this means getting a new motherboard......so I was going to get the AMD FX8350 Black Edition.......would it make a difference at all ? I know the gtx 480 is a older card but it can still max bf 4 no problem and metro but would there be a big fps increase also maybe in the summer i will get a new graphics card so will it help that also. Thanks

thanks how may fps will i gain also if £148 a good price for one?

It's worth getting the 8320 over an 8350, it retails for like £110 and they're the same chip except the 8320 is clocked lower at stock. Changing the multiplier to 20 gets you an 8350 for £40 less.

And yes, you will see a huge performance increase.

Also everyone gets that lag in DayZ, Rocket's working on it as it is a Pre-Alpha.

I know its pre alpha but also in arma 2 its the same with the lag and settings , also if i got the 8320 and oc it would I get the exact same performance and can I oc with this mb asus m5a78l ?

Yes, it would be identical to an 8350. I wouldn't recommend going oast 4.2 GHz on that motherboard, which is 200MHz over the 8320's turbo speed and matches the 8350's turbo speed. Your motherboard isn't suited to overclocking. I'd even place a fan to blow cool air over the VRM's if you can since they're not heatsinked. But getting an 8320 to 8350 speeds should be no trouble regardless.

cheers
do I need a cooler or would the stock one be enough ?

Hmm, yeah I'd recommend an aftermarket one. Something like a CM Hyper 212 EVO, if it fits in your case.

first of all you wouldn't even need to overclock a fx 8320.
The performance gap between 8320 and 8350 is so small you wouldn't notice.
