My System Unit making a grinding noise when booting up

Everytime i boot up my computer, my System Unit is always making a grinding noise and it stops when it reaches the desktop. What seems to be the problem?

Here's my specs:
Processor : Intel G620
Motherboard : BIOSTAR H61MLV
Hard Disk : Seagate 500GB
Video Card : SapphireHD 6570
Power Supply : Corsair VS450

Sounds like your HDD is going out. Do you have it all backed-up?
