Help installing Mint OS please?

So I formatted a 16GB USB with software that make sit bootable, the OS is on there ready to go but for some reason when i go into the BIOS it doesn't let me boot from the USB stick. i hit enter to boot from it like it says but nothing happens.

Little more info about your system would help.
Is it new?
Does it have UEFI.
Under boot options, do you see "safeboot"? If yes, turn that off.
Under boot options, some BIOSs detect bootable flash drives as hard drives, check if your flash is listed under hard drives.
