I am using my PC just for FSX (maybe x-plane or prepare3D in the future) with the following spec:
GTX 460 1Gb
Win7 Home 64bit
Even now I have a second monitor attached to my GPU, but it is an old monitor with touch screen and pretty low resolution.
Now I am going to replace this old monitor to an ACER DA22HQL 21" IPS touch monitor as I have found a good deal.
As the new monitor will have a higher resolution, most probably it will affect the overall performance of my FSX.
On the touch screen I am just using some panels, FMC, so no any external view or heavy graphic stuff will be displayed, but I know FSX is pretty "stupid" in this term and the additional screen could hit the performance.
My question is basically if it worth to upgrade my GTX460 to a GTX 760 or similar? What GPU would you suggest? I want to stay around 300USD with the budget and do not want to replace any other part of my PC for the time being (i.e. existing PU shall be sufficient). Also for compatibility reason I want to stick to nVidia GPU.
Heres my two bits. I have FSX, and have been playing it for 3+ years. I have a 760 and i7 4770K, and it's able to stay at 60FPS (I capped it there). So make the decesion. GTX 760 I can get with high scenery.
