Hi all, I need help choosing between amd or intel. I am going to be building 2 of the same machine( so my boys don't fight and they can play together). my boys are 7 and 5 and mostly play mine craft currently. my younger sons birthday is coming up on the 30th and a hes been wanting his own computer( yes I know I spoil my kids & already had family call me nuts) with that be said, I want to use this as a learning experience for them, since I am going to have them build it with me. also needs be able to handle modern games decently for when my friends come over and we want to have a lan party
here are 2 builds I am thinking of going with. I left room to upgrade later
amd: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/LMagus1/saved/3s1O
intel: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/LMagus1/saved/3s23
all the parts are up for change except for the case as I want it to match my level10 gt full tower
any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Intel build will be more powerful in most games.

With the R250 Graphics card you have selected, you wont be playing the newest of games on ultra or high with 60fps. However it will still run them on medium settings well.

If you want the option to upgrade these in the future you will need a slightly more powerful PSU, the higher end ATIs need 500W to run a single card, so it might be worth looking at that, but only if you want the option to upgrade later.

thanks for the info. and i will only be upgrading once my kids realize they need more power to get the most out the machine. so this shouldnt happen for awhile. but when it does i am going to have them research the parts, as this will be a build to learn from.
