I've been toying with idea of buying a new monitor, of which I've used a generic 24" monitor for the past 3 years. I'm looking at 27" monitors in the $400 range, but despite claims these monitor produce a much more colorful experience overall, I'm having a difficult time justifying the price tag for three extra inches of screen size.

Is a 27-inch monitor upgrade worth the price tag?

There's a lot more to a screen than just the size. Resolution, display type, refresh rate, etc all play a role. If you link your current monitor to the one you're looking at it will help.

Which monitors are we talking about?
A 1080p 24" vs 27" is not worth it, but a 1080p 24" vs a 1440p 27" is indeed worth it.

Is there really much software out there that even supports 1440p?
