Nvidia car to support 3 to 4 monitors, not a gaming computer.

I have a friend that wishes to do 3-4 monitors on his business desktop.

Since this is for business and not gaming, the cutting edge is not necessary.

He is currently running Windows 7 64 bit on an ASROCK 970 Extreme3 R2.0 AM3+ motherboard with FX-6300 processor.

He is currently running an HIS Radeon HD6570 card, but that card I cannot keep the video drive from not responding even after creating the QWORD TdrDelay and setting the value to 10.

Since I am going to RMA the card back to Newegg, I will get him an Nvidia based video card (sorry, I believe that Nvidia cards are more stable).

I would like to have 3-4 monitor support in a single card solution, any suggestions?

There is an EVGA GTX 660 on Amazon fot $195. Is 2GB RAM enough?

Vram is not an issue if you are not playing games or doing rendering/image related work.

You cannot assume a video card can run as many display as as it has outputs. There been many cases where people try to do 3 or 4 monitors but failed, despite their cards having that many ports.

As far as I know you will need a GTX 660 or better to run 4 screens because it's the card that has seen the most success doing so.

That EVGA GTX 660 will do fine. Not sure about the GTX 650.

ignore everyone above.

buy an Asus GT640, which can do 4 outputs WITHOUT using DisplayPort. it does DVI, DVI, HDMI, VGA. all basic common connectors. 2GB VRAM is more than enough. i run a pair of these.

Yeah that GT640 looks better. Newegg reviews confirm it runs 4 displays. Half the cost of a 660.
