Hi, I'm scratching my head right now on my choice of motherboard / CPU new mix.
I plan on gaming on 3 screens. Buying an AMD R9 and later, another one. I also have 1866 DDR3 memory.
Option 1 - FM2+ - $300
Motherboard - ASUS A88X-PRO FM2+ : Newegg Link
CPU - AMD A10-6800K : Newegg Link
Option 2 - AM3+ - $320
Motherboard - ASUS Sabertooth : Newegg Link
CPU - AMD FX-6350 : Newegg Link
What i know :
Option 1 - PCie 3.0 only on FM2+. Dual x8.
Option 2 - L3 Cache is good for gaming. Dual x16.
I want to keep this system for maybe 5 years and so i thought to go for option 1 then upgrade the CPU if needed in 1 or 2 years.
Do you think they'll ever release FM2+ CPU with L3 Cache? Or will high end gaming be on a new socket entirely?
Thank you for your thoughts.
