Hi, as the title is, will the 5th gen Intel processors still use the LGA1150 socket?

I am thinking of making a desktop but I am not sure whether to wait for the next gen processor or just build something now.

I am planning on getting something like 4th gen i3 which I can then on upgrade to a 5th gen i5.

All help is very much appreciated, thank you all for helping out! :D  :D  :D

Don't quote me on this, but I do believe they would continue with the 1150.

Broadwell will be socket 1150.

However, they will require a motherboard with a "9 series" chipset like a Z97 or H97. These motherboards are not available yet and likely will not be until Broadwell desktop CPUs are available for sale.

Who knows, they might just offer a BIOS flash like they did for the H61 chipsets and Sandy Bridge.
