How is my PC for Gaming at 1360x768?

I have $1,200. I'm not saying I would like to spend all of it on a computer. I'm just trying to build a computer that can run all current games and maybe some newer upcoming games on the highest settings at 60fps at 768p. I'll be buying the parts in a little over a month. How does this look?

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 Mid Tower - $59.99
HDD: Seagate Barracude 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache - $64.99
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme - $99.99
CPU: Intel Core i5-3550p - $179.99
GPU: MSI Nvidia GTX 760 TF 2GB $259.99
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHZ 240 Pin DDR3 - $79.99
PSU: EVGA 500W w/ 40A on +12V - $44.99
Total: $789.93

Edit: Newegg estimates it will use 438W. Is 500W enough to overclock my GTX 760?

Oh gosh sorry... by 1360p, I meant 1360x768 which is really 768p... sorry for the mess up.

At that resolution it's likely even a GTX760 is overkill as you are hugely resolution limited.
You'd probably be better off getting a basic 1080P monitor and adjusting your budget to suit.

Also, you have a Z series motherboard picked with a non-overclockable processor. You can save quite a lot of money on the motherboard if you have no interest in overclocking.

If it were me, I'd probably change the PSU. It's sufficient for the build, but it's not the greatest quality. The XFX Core 550 is usually the cheapest "good" PSU, though if you are struggling on the budget then the EVGA is passable.

You really think its that overkill? I have a Radeon 7850 OC right now and I think I need something with a little more juice so thats why I'm building this new computer. I want to be able to play games like Battlefield 4, Day Z, and I want it to last for future games like the Elder Scrolls VI, Battlefield 5, etc, and to have them run at 60fps on the highest settings. So this is why I wanted a GTX 760 OC.

The only reason I don't use 1080p is because I use a 32" TV as my monitor. When I first built my current computer I was on a very tight budget and couldn't afford a monitor, so I just used my TV. It won't scale correctly on any resolution besides 1360x768, so I use that. Is there really a difference in graphics by gaming at 1080p? I already think games like BF3 look great on my 32" at 768p.

I picked that motherboard just because I like it and its upgradability. It has 2 PCIE 3.0 x16 slots and 4 RAM slots and it's only $99.99. I'm also going to upgrade to the PSU you recommended.

I don't see why you'd be having any problems gaming at that resolution with a HD7850, it's more than capable right now. Obviously newer games will be more demanding, but the difference in performance between a HD7850 and a GTX760 is significant, but probably not worth the upgrade. If I were you, I'd stick with the HD7850 for now, and then upgrade as appropriate. The longer you wait, the more (relatively) you'll get for your money.

About the motherboard, you didn't mention which version it is (there are at least four "Extreme"s). I can understand why you would want to have the SLI facility, but remember that will require a new PSU anyway, so it's not like your build has that capability out of the box.
While the performance isn't hugely different between an overclocked and a non overclocked i5, if you are getting a Z-series motherboard anyway, it's worth considering about getting a K-series processor too. You've already absorbed some of the cost of overclocking, and buying a 3570K (or swapping to Haswell and a 4670K) will give you some extra performance in hand if you need it. Just drop in a solid CPU cooler at a later date.

Ah,now I get you. gtx760 will do the job but really so will the 7850,I agree about holding out until it is long in the tooth. Maxwell cards are around the corner anyways,as is volcanic islands. Those will be 4K ready, and will mop the floor with 720p. Might as well get the K processor since you have the Z77 motherboard. Also,Z77 extreme 4 was the minimum for SLI,might want to check that.

Ok, now I got the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and an i5-3570k. I think I'm going to wait for Maxwell, I definitely don't want AMD.

I just hate AMD. My dad had a 5000 series, can't remember which exactly. All he had was display issues like lines all through his games, his screen going black, etc. Nvidia is just superior in performance and has things like PhysX. I had an MSI Nvidia GTX 260 OC SLI for nearly 5 years and they worked fine and I never had any issues but I sold them.

I've made the choice to get the core i5-3570k over the i5-4670k because the 4670k is LGA 1150 and not compatible with the Z77 Extreme4 that I want. I've also added a 24" Acer with 5ms response time and an MSI GTX 770 TF 2GB which I'll overclock. Also a Hyper 212 EVO to push the CPU to 4ghz. It comes out at $1,200.

for monitors,TFT<LED<VA<IPS. LG has good IPS ones on a budget,Viewsonic too (LG panels)
AMD have been coming out with nice cards recently like the Radeon R9 series, even the pricing has artificially inflated from demand. Gtx 770 is a good card you'll love it.

I think the LED I want will be fine. My dad has an Asus 24" LED 1080p 2ms monitor and hes had it for about 3 or 4 years now and its still holding up good.

It's not a matter of working well but more of quality of the Picture. I have an Acer LED too and it is a good display but IPS is just better,I see it every time I'm at my best friend's place. It has a way with the colors. Think iPhone-like quality.
