No signal to monitor after installing new GPU

Ok, I installed a new GPU and a new PSU. I turned on the machine and got no signal to either of my monitors. I built the computer originally and the only thing I can think of that I did wrong was I didn't uninstall the old GPU drivers first. After some research I went to put the old card back in to uninstall the drivers and still got no signal. I would use the default VGA port but my motherboard doesn't have one. I'm wondering if that's a normal reaction for just forgetting to uninstall drivers or if my PCL-E port is dirty. To be sure, I attempted to use the secondary PCL-E port to no avail. If the port is dirty, is there a safe way to clean it? Really cranky :/

Sounds like a faulty port on the graphics card. I would return it and get a replacement.

That's what I thought, but when I put the old card back in I still got no signal
