So this is a little bit long I do apologise:

On the 19th of March I ordered a 650w PSU from OCUK (One of their own brand, I wasn't terribly knowledgeable back then) to compliment the new GPU I'd just bought.

Shortly after the GPU failed and I returned it. Replacement failed and they messed up couriers etc. I told them where to go and that was that.

On the 20th of August the PSU failed, had a little pop and went (tripped the fuse box). Previous to this it had been whirring a bit much but I couldn't be bothered to replace it for that reason alone. I returned it and they sent out a replacement.

Now my original PSU was quieter and already installed ... so I opened the box, saw the product box with the label on etc and then sat in on the shelf until tonight when I decided to install it to help with cooling until I upgrade.

Take it out and I was a bit shocked. It was just dumped in the product box roughly with no packaging or anything. It looks familiar though so I wire it all up. As I'm doing a final inspection I notice the code is 450, so look and yep .. it's a 450w PSU. Box definitely has the 650w code attached to the side but is not. In the box I also see a tatty old order sheet from July with the 650w on it to a completely different person (with his details!).

So where do I stand now? My experience of their Cx Services was truly shocking last time. Legally do I have anything to go on if they play difficult?

Try contacting them...
OCUK had a major change of ownership, management, and location a while back, things are still a little unsettled...
Some of the Head-Count can be real @rse-holes, the guys higher-up are pretty good and keen to help.
Send them a carefully worded letter detailing what you said (above) and see what they say.

They actually pulled through and are apparently willing to give a refund.

Not expected from last time!

Update : Out of an expected refund of ~£64 they gave me £25. Still battling it out now!

Contact Trading Standards where they operate out of, I'm sure they would be interested in a company selling incorrectly marked, returned goods as new and then refusing to refund.

They are such a bunch of incompetent wankers.

You phone up and the staff sound miserable and condescending as hell.
