if you're absolutely building a pc for gaming then go with the i5. if you're going to render or use photoshop or other editing software go with the fx. for gpu 760>660ti=r9 270x. if i have unlimited budget id go with the 760. budget wise r9 270. it will give you a great price/performance ratio. plus crysis 3 and battlefield 4 is amd optimized, so it will run better than the 660ti on those games. but if you love physx so much and care more about AC4 and other games optimized for nvidia go with the 660ti if you dont mind spending more.

R9 270x is good and it is equal to GTX 760 in performance, 660Ti is out of the league when you compare these 3. FX 8350 is a great CPU, its base clock is 4GHz and you can overclock it to 8.5Ghz, but i5 4670k cannot be overclocked that much and its base clock rate is 3.4Ghz max is 3.8Ghz.

If its for pure gaming I would rather suggest you to go with FX 6300 instead of FX 8350. Cheers !! Hope I have answered your concern

hahaah yeah you can overclock the 8350 to 8.5ghz but would need liquid nitrogen to cool the cpu. realistically with a water cooler. you can go up to 5.5 max with good ambient temp good case airflow paired with the best cpu water cooler. talking about base clocks. dont you know per core performance intel kicks amd's ass? im not a fan boy, i actually use fx6300. but you cant deny the power of intel single threaded. try to research even the i3's are better in single thread than 8350. thats why amd put more cores to catch up with the performance of intel when you are already using apps that use multi threads, such as games or editing or rendering.

no im not. dont talk about clocks cause we are talkin bout intel and amd here. the man asking would be fooled easily if youre going to talk clocks, given if he's not familliar with intel and amd because amd always higher clocks than intel but not necessarily faster.
and really? you're going as far as 6300 over the i5? come on man.

The post is a discussion, so we are free to give ideas about the processor, let people learn new things. Always when you are telling something its better to give the actual specs so people can get to know more about it and if they are having any doubts they can clarify it here always.

but what is wrong is that the actual spec you gave is very misleading. like i said when it comes to intel vs amd, clocks shouldn't be mentioned because intel cores perform much better than amd cores. a 4.5ghz fx wont match a 3.4ghz intel head to head. better stick with real time performance and benchmarks than specs. now if you're talking about piledriver core vs another piledriver core that is the time clocks will help you decide which is better

re edited for typos

is i5 4670k is futureproof.................... can it play games like watchdogs....................... check on gamedebate.com it says it will give around 70% performance and a fx 8350 will give 98% performance .......................... this shows that fx beats the i5 .... but you guys says i5 beats fx

im actually using an 8320 and my brother is using the 3570k. and single thread you can really see the how fast is an i5 single threaded. on multi thread apps like games. i5,i7 and an 8320 is evenly matched. but single threaded? o come on dude lets admit it. even i had to admit when my brother bought an i5 even though i hate losing to my brother. you know how brothers are.

go which one is cheaper. they're basically the same. since the 270x hawk is only 2gb i suppose it is cheaper so go with it. 2gb is enough for gaming and for single monitor support. if you plan to use 3 monitors go with 4gb

I would rather say go with sapphire Toxic R9 270x, that is the best in R9 270 series. If budget is a problem you can stick with MSI 270x gaming edition. However keep one thing in mind, the ATI cards require more power supply than the GTX cards during high performance, so make sure you have a good PSU atleast above 550W

Yea I am familiar with that. Shubham I would suggest you to check in the Flipkart, in India Toxic R9 270x is not yet available. I would suggest you to get Sapphire 4GB OC edition, I purchased mine in Flipkart and you have pretty good support for your components. MSI doesn't have pretty good support here. So go with sapphire

Here is the link ---> http://www.flipkart.com/sapphire-amd-ati-radeon-r9-270x-boost-oc-4-gb-ddr5-graphics-card/p/itmdryxquhwnxfme?pid=GRCDRYXF7EFCUZSY&otracker=from-search&srno=t_1&query=r9+270x&ref=1f403088-0ed8-47c1-83e4-ac4ad9c6da4d

Good Luck !! Looking forward regarding your build

yes it is. like i said multi thread apps like gaming photoshop and editing. the 8350 is head to head with the i5 or i7.

but if you also consider casual use like browsing or anything light apps. intel is way better.

price/performance amd is way to go. i think 8350 is cheaper than the i5 4670k
