Hi all

I’ve been out of the PC gaming market for about 10 years now, and I’m now looking to build a gaming PC. I know a few things have changed so I just wanted to put these specs out there and get a few opinions to make sure I'm going to be wasting my money on any parts.

The PC will be used almost purely for gaming purposes. I’d like to play most of the latest games, Battlefield 4, Crysis 3, and driving games, and be able to run them in 1080p smoothly with most features enabled.

I’m hoping to purchase within the next couple of weeks, in the UK.

I’m trying to keep the cost below £600, but will go a little over that if I need to.

I’ve selected the parts via PCPartsPicker website.

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z87-D3HP ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 300R Windows ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CX500W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer

I used to prefer the NVIDIA cards many years ago, so I’m going for the GTX 760 graphics card. I’m not looking to do overclocking right now but that may change once I get down to playing a few more games.

Parts not required:
Monitor
Hard disk
Keyboard
Mouse
Windows Operating System

Thanks

Gets you the 760, which will max out everything at 1080p for the most part, except Crysis 3. Easily max out BF4.
