Advice on Build

I've posted several times about a build I am trying to finalize, and I think I've finally found something that could work, but I have some concerns. The big one is future-proofing, closely followed by if I've cheaped out somewhere where I shouldn't have.

you can try this build and yes i know that in my build gtx 770 and in yours its 780 but you can sacrifice that 780 for gtx 770 to get better motherboard psu and ram

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4670K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock B85M Pro4 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($77.55 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card ($329.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: Corsair 400R ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 600W 80+...
Are you planning to overclock? If so, you'll want an aftermarket cpu cooler, such as a hyper 212 evo. If not, you could get a cheaper non-K cpu.

A 2x4GB memory kit will give you better performance (due to dual channel operation) than a 1x8GB stick for about the same price.

That's not a good psu. According to http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx, the Kingwin "Lazer" and "Mach 1" models are okay, but their other product lines are in Tier 5.

Video card and case are okay, but MSI motherboards are considered lower quality by some.

I think you should invest a little more into PSU. It is an important part and I don't know how reliable a Kingwin is. Besides that the Kingwin is a BTX PSU and your case is ATX. I don't know if they are compatible. Go for an ATX PSU

Don't get caught up on the future proofing idea. Just make certain that the components you get are not too old.

This build is decent, as D4V0 pointed out that MOBO is cheap for a K version CPU (Asus z87Pro is nice and plenty of perks for the price)

Also the PSU is a little iffy aim for something of a Tier 1 (http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx)

Also this cougar case doesn't have 2.5 to 3.5 adapters and only have 1x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0 (which some around this size come with 2x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0)

And very important, if you're not gaming at 1080p (max or higher) don't wast your cash on a GTX 780 stick with a GTX 760 and put the ($220 you could've save on other components)

Best Luck

You should really get a dual stick RAM kit. The vast majority of motherboards support dual channel, and having 2x4GB would be far superior then 1x8GB.

Your PSU should be swapped to a more reputable brand. I've never even heard of Kingwin.

Thanks for all the replies! I started my search with a build like those you guys desribed, but then started reading up on how the gtx 780 is a must have for next gen gaming and then i realized to fit in my budget $800-900 id would have to cut back on other components. So if i use a gtx 770 or 760, with better mobo and psu, i should still be good?

If you are gaming at 1080p you have nothing to worry about gtx 760 or even better gtx 770 will be enough
