Hey guys, first time poster here so hope I'm not committing and faux pas.

I just spent about 7 straight hours on this website and more researching parts before pulling the trigger on a new build. I probably should have posted this BEFORE buying, but I said "screw it" and did it anyway.

I wanted to get some opinions on my choices to set my mind at ease That I did ok for what I spent. First, My current system:

Athlon x2 4800+ @ 2.41
2GB of some older RAM, can't remember what
9800 GSO w/ some odd amount of memory (294?)
6TB of HDDs
500w PSU, I forget the brand but it's newer and modular

That covers the basics. Now for what I purchased:

1 x ($219.99) MSI N760-2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 $219.99
1 x ($144.99) ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6 $144.99
1 x ($119.99) AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket A $119.99
1 x ($74.99) G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 S $74.99 (2133)
1 x ($59.99) NVIDIA Gift - Assassin Creed4 $59.99
1 x ($34.99) Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120 $34.99
1 x ($8.99) Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver - OEM $8.99
1 x ($-59.99) DISCOUNT FOR AUTOADD #105853$-59.99
Subtotal: $603.94
Tax: $0.00
Shipping and Handling: $8.60
Total Amount: $612.54

(all from newegg)

I did read the article on the best CPUs and at first went with the i3, but decided I wanted more cores for my other apps (Forgot to mention I wanted to build a decent gaming rig) and have went AMD my entire life, so I feel comfortable there. I did go with the 760 as suggested. My budget was pretty much $600 and managed to beg my wife for the extra 12 for shipping. :)

I am a little worried that my PSU may be under powered, I kept the 500w, obviously. I'm currently running 1 22" monitor and a 200" projector that has 800x600 native (still looks fantastic!). Though I am considering adding my other 22" int the mix.

I probably will not be overclocking, at least not right away. My case is an older full tower (huge) with more than enough room to spare for any components.

So my big question: Did I make decent decisions, do I need a new PSU and will this setup run things ok? The newegg PSU helper tool suggested about 428 watts.

Even on my current system I can run games like Dead Island and Batman at pretty good frame rates, but I'm lagging on more CPU geared games like Starbound and Project Zomboid. What do you guys think?

(sorry for lack of links on the parts)
