Can a car amplifier help power a powered speaker?

I have an amp in my car already but I also have a powered woofer. Will the amp help power the active woofer? Will it help make it louder?

No, if you plug the seperate amp in to the line level inputs you'll just destroy the circuitry.

The only way it might be louder is if the woofer has seperate inputs that go straight to the driver, and your car amplifier is more powerful than the woofer's passive one.
