I am a student staying in hostel. So we use the Wi-Fi provided in our hostel. But when using this we have come across a problem. Whenever we connect our laptop to Wi-Fi, it works fine but whenever we connect our mobile phones or tablets, it got disconnected within a short while (about 2-5 minutes). Can anything be done for this? What's the reason behind it?

I am quite sure it isn't mobile phone problem as when i use Wi-Fi at home, the phone never gets disconnected

Sometimes these issues occur when device is not directly connected to the WiFi router. That is when you only have a DSL router and you connect it to a secondary Wi-Fi router to get a Wi-Fi signal.

I have the same problem at my home router, I have changed the security settings from "WPA2" to "WPA2 mixed" and it is now working fine. Also maintain TKIP+AES protocols. It is now working fine.
