Hi there I'm planning on building my first Computer. I'm on a fairly low budget of about £600 ($977.76), I plan to do a fair bit of gaming but smooth fps is more important to me than Ultra settings. This is what I have planned so far and I wondered if it's okay and any changes you would make to maximise performance, however I would request you bare the budget in mind:

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card
Case: Zalman Z5 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit)

Total: £565.07

Thanks in advance!

hmmm go for at least a 600w psu. a 430w isn't enough handling a 660. a minimum power requirement is a 450w psu. 500w isnt still a good choice because if you use 80% of the power. heat will become a problem. go for at least a 550w and if possible a 600w psu

From my experience a 500w 80+ bronze PSU will do as long as it is of quality parts. I've owned a 660 from asus and that thing is VERY cost effective, i used a overclocked 8350 at 4.5ghz at that time and i never used over 380w when playing games. And remember that this is a fx-6300 which uses even less power. But yes, get another PSU, like this guy said above you cant use 430w as 20% of the power would be lost.
