For your system you are wasting a lot of money. If you're going to spend that much on the system you should get a nice monitor to go along with it. You can get an Overlord Tempest monitor which is 2560x1440 and can be "overclocked" to 120hz. Qnix Evo II is a Korean made monitor that will do the same thing. That system is overkill for a dinky 24" monitor. I think BenQ should have a 27" with 120hz available as well but that will be 1080p.

How am I wasting a lot of money? 1440 monitors are around 400$ and I don't feel like spending that much on a monitor. Your opinion on a monitor size is mute to me so please refrain from inputing that. I'm looking for a replacement that is 144hz not 120hz. I plan on upgrading to a better monitor when they become cheaper for the higher resolutions.

The goal though is to have a desktop for when I upgrade the monitor down the road. I plan on eventually having 2 and my main one will be 1440 or better once the prices drop. For now I need a monitor 144hz and roughly the same price as this asus. It isn't about reducing the power in my desktop so refrain from talking about that unless it has to do with a better part for with the power im trying to get. Monitor isn't a huge thing for me atm, hence the 1080p. I also love the 1ms time on that, I may very well wait, because this monitor is the only one that can have a diy kit for g-sync. Actually it's the only monitor that can have it atm. I don't care what you can do.
