ok i have a gateway dx4860-ur28 with
8gb ram
i5-3330
windows8.1 64bit
my motherboard is a cheaply acer M1939 IPISB-VR supports PCI-e 2.0
i put in a cx500 psu
i have a evga 550 ti now works fine

i just ordered the 760 today and i was reading on the threads on here about not being able to put this card in and i think it is cuz the motherboard is 2.0 and the card is 3.0 but i have read that that does not matter. i looked in the bios and i don't see anything about turning off the onboard graphics or anything about pci-e 2.0 i have heard that all the cards with 3.0 comes stock with 2.0 and you have to change it in the comman promt to set it to 3.0 is this right. i am just worried that im not goin to be able to use it i just got this computer and now im wishing that i just build one myself. would doing a cmos do anything plz help me out.

U have to do nothing. Just put the card, install the drivers and thats all. Even titan can be used with pcie 2 motherboard it doesnt matter, ur card will perform to its full potential.
