Hello,

So I have a 7950amd card and a computer that supports directx 11. The problem is that steam only installs the directx 9 versions of games. Like tomb raider, when I use steam, no tressfx, no tesselations, etc.

But when I torrented tomb raider and ran the game, full graphical options. Same thing for bio shock, and others! Thanks for your help.

More about : directx11 install tho support

Steam OS uses Open GL if that is what you are using.

SteamOS has only an OpenGL renderer, so only games that support OpenGL are supported natively on SteamOS. Some games may be playable through WINE, but I believe that WINE supports only DirectX 9.0c
