My Laptop Screen is Green but OK on a Monitor

I've bought a new LCD panel to replace my broken Laptop Panel, but the screen is all greenish and fuzzy.
I've connected the laptop to an external monitor, and it works fine!

Then I contacted the seller who told me:
"The problem must be the onboard graphic card, because they do a separate image processing when conected to an external monitor, causing the image to be OK on the external monitor and not OK on the laptop screen"

Is this true/possible? Or is the seller just trying to scam me?

Thanks.

sounds a strange response.

It may be the ribbon type cable going from the mobo to the screen is damaged/loose.

I had a similar issue with my laptop a few weeks ago, my screen just had lines all over it. took the keyboard off and pushed the connection tight and has worked fine since

My suspicion is either the cable or the panel itself. I already checked if the cable is correctly placed and it seems ok.

I just wanted to know if what the seller told could be true...
