As you say, single thread performance, power consumption, overclocking performance, and AMD has nothing at the high end to compete with the socket 2011 CPUs like the 4930k or 4960x.

I like AMD, my work PC has an 8350. But this thread is ridiculous. Its not as simple as "More cores = More better", the 8350 isnt a true 8 core CPU, many things are shared by two of the integer cores. Compare the 8350 against a true 8 core Intel Xeon E5-2687W and you will see why the Intel CPU is so much more expensive.
