Can't see windows 8 bootscreen on AMD HD xfx 7700 series.

I'm trying to update my computer to windows 8.1, but my monitor doesn't actually kick in and display anything until windows boots.

This means I can't see anything while trying to install the 8.1 update, I'd imagine if I had a monitor to plug into the On-board graphics adapter that would work. But I'm not so lucky, does anyone have an idea's for workarounds or a setting I can't fix?

Sorry I don't know the name of it off the top of my head, the white one on the back the lower of the 2.

I moved over to the other Port on the back, didn't work, it does have a On board graphics card as well. could that be getting in the way somehow?
