I'm putting together a first build and wanted to get your input. I don't want to go past $1,000 and would like to shave a hundred or two off of my current build. I will use the computer for some gaming (mainly Total War: Rome 2 and other strategy games), HD video streaming, light video editing, and everyday computing.

This is what I have so far:

CPU: AMD Richland 4.1 GHz Quad Core ($129.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASUS F2A85-M PRO FM2 AMD A85X ($99.49 @ Newegg)
Hard Drive: WD SE WD2000F9YZ 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA ($144.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) ($96.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB ($174.99)
Optical Drive: ASUS Black Blu-ray Drive ($58.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair Carbide Series 500R Arctic White Steel / Plastic ATX Mid ($133.99 @ Newegg)
PSU:CORSAIR CXM series CX600M 600W ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar DSX 7.1 Channels PCI Express x1 Interface Audio Card ($59.99 @ Newegg)

Once I add windows to this configuration it comes to a little over $1,000 dollars.

Any suggestions or input you might have I would greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Hi - You can probably save significant $ without changing your parts by not limiting yourself to Newegg & using pcpartpicker.

The 500r case is almost always on sale somehere for < $100 delivered.
Like wise a good 2TB hdd should go for $85-$100. The Kingston hyper x ram is $80 for 2x4g
