I am looking to do a triple monitor set-up with one of the following combinations:

GTX 780ti
2 - GTX770 in SLI
or
3 - GTX770 in 3 Way SLI

I have 3 Asus 27" monitors that I will be using for the set-up. I will be gaming mostly. I had considered sticking with a single monitor set-up, but decided I would rather waste some money on this set-up.

I have about $1,200 budgeted to video card(s) and am looking for the best performance.

In case it matters, here is the rest of my set-up:

ASRock X79 Extreme6
i7 4820k
32GB G.Skill Ripjaws Z
Corsair HX1050 power supply

Thanks in advance!

Two way SLI is the way to go. The price/performance with going 3 way just is not there. I would go with a SLI GTX 770 setup it would be about the best option. Even with the power of a GTX 780TI as a single card I think a Surround setup would be pushing the card to much. 3x 1080p would be 5760x1080 so even with a GTX 780TI you would still need SLI I would think. And a SLI GTX 770 will blow even a GTX 780TI away.

I have a Surround setup on my i5 3570K rig with a SLI GTX 670 setup and love it. I run 3x Asus 27" (VK278Q)monitors and can't see going back to a single monitor after over two years. On games that have support it is great. While it does take up quite alot of desktop space I could not see going with anything smaller now.

two way SLI is your better bet from what i know 3 or 4 way SLI is not worth the cost and it really doesnt improve your performance and not all games will use all the cards so you could just have a third card in there doing nothing.

I also have a gtx 770 4gb and its great i use it on a 29" ultra wide monitor 2560X1080 with no problems.

You do want to use three monitors so 3 way SLI could be needed but then you would be over budget cause 770 are around 500 at least where i bought mine they are.

In short given that my SLI GTX 670's can handle Surround a SLI GTX 770 setup should be able to handle it just fine.

The 770's are actually down under $400 these day even for the 4gb models. I'd probably say the best bet in your budget would be 2 780's in sli. They'd come in right around $1000 and would probably outperform 3way 770's.
